New crypto exchanges are popping up every other day. At least in 2021 this was the case. There are so many that users often find it challenging to know which one to choose. Well, for seasoned traders the choice is usually obvious as they have they favorites. But what about newcomers? They encounter over 450 exchanges and most of them looks and feels the same. None of them has a unique differentiator, a unique selling point.

This is not the case with NEBU.

We started with the idea that we want to invite more people into crypto. We wanted our less tech-savvy colleagues, our family, and many others to enjoy the benefits of crypto. Of course tech is important, but the paradigm of deepening mass adoption by extolling the benefits of technology is not working as well as we hoped. So we want to try a different approach. We want to invite a lot more people into crypto by giving them what we all love most — the opportunity to make money.

NEBU is an exchange that stands out in the crowd. It’s a story-driven crypto exchange with gamification mechanics aimed at providing both fun and education. The platform combines two disciplines with like-minded audiences: trading and gaming. Why gaming and gamers?

An exchange unlike any other.

We wanted Nebu to be different from the rest of the exchanges in one more thing. We wanted to have a well-defined target. We wanted to target a specific group of people that we know, that we can understand, that we can serve well. And we really wanted to not be bland, targeting everyone and no one, like most of the exchanges do. Long story short, as I may write a separate article about this, we decided that we were creating an exchange for gamers. Why? Because we are or were gamers ourselves. Some of us hardcore gamers. And in addition, this group is growing and becoming more important every year. But there’s more.

We looked at the market and found out that traders and gamers have very similar characteristics. Looking at the reports published by largest companies in the field of crypto trading (Binance) and gaming (Activision) you can see that demographically typical Ben-trader and typical Ben-gamer are pretty much the same. Additionally, both Ben-trader and Ben-gamer are accustomed to use virtual currencies, however Ben-gamer does that to trade items in his favorite games whereas Ben-trader trade crypto to get rich.

There’s one more important thing. Perhaps the most important factor that links the gamer and the trader perspective. It’s the desire to win. The desire to defeat your opponents. The desire to win against the market. This specific mindset stems mainly from the fact that trading is actually a game against other market participants. So naturally, it made perfect sense to unite these two activities and create one unique super-platform.

So what users GET on Nebu?

Long-term success for a platform depends on its ability to create an experience that users would want to return to. This is where gamification comes in. The rewarding nature of gaming achievements makes Nebu a more enjoyable exchange.

We decided to incentivize various crypto-exchange activities. Users could be rewarded for learning new skills, putting them into practice (learn-by-doing), and contributing to the platform’s growth.

It can all be summed up with the acronym GET: Gamification, Education, Trading.

We treat each concern with sincerity. Nebu’s gamification angle has not been created at the expense of the most basic functionalities all exchanges must satisfactorily provide. And keeping in mind that this poll has been done on users that already use crypto exchanges this all is something that has to be addressed while running such business.

Here’s how Nebu approaches some of the users’ key concerns.

  • Safety of Assets

Wallet management will be conducted in partnership with one of the largest custodians in the industry. The security of our clients’ funds will be handled by a specialized external provider who can provide appropriate insurance. For users, there is comfort in knowing their funds will be managed by a trusted player on the market rather than a new crypto exchange.

  • User Support

For inexperienced users, customer support is invaluable. From the very beginning, we assumed the level of user support must be high. We decided to automate the process as much as possible using world-leading software tools but at the same time we are not going to leave our users without possibility to contact us directly. We value interaction with people therefore we want to take this approach, at least in the first few months.

  • User Experience

NEBU is going to be something that is very familiar to everyone who played some games before. Imagine Ogame and Duolingo combined to guide you through the crypto universe. Moreover, the entire front-end can be customized according to one’s needs, so users are able to personalize the platform exactly to match their needs.

  • Trading Conditions

Nebu will provide adequate liquidity, especially in the first months of operation, when the userbase may be too small to fill the order books on its own. We have established business relationships with several market makers and tested many market-making tools.

It is also part of an over-arching narrative that helps new traders become confident and self-reliant. Nebu’s concierge is a virtual companion. It is an educator and an advisor that explains market functionalities, proposes new challenges, and provides relevant content at just the right time. Think of the concierge as the platform’s android assistant, like Data in Star Trek. Whatever questions you have, the concierge can provide a comprehensive knowledge base and more detailed gamification aspects. And as a last resort it can always direct you to contact a living person in customer support.

  • The Exchange Token and its Economy

The immanent component of the platform and the real fuel of gamification will be our exchange token, called the Nebu token (NEBU). Users will be rewarded with NEBUs for various activities on the exchange, and the token itself can be used to reduce trading fees or buy various account improvements. Nebu is a platform that promotes personalization. A Nebu profile allows users to extend their trading portfolio, check their gaming statistics, and keep an eye on the collection of badges and items both bought and won. Comprehensive leaderboards encourage users to compare their results with other traders for great rewards, liberate their competitive spirit, and engage with the platform.

  • Deep-space Democracy

Several well-known crypto exchanges have based their market success on being the fastest to integrate new coins. In the case of Nebu, this will be based on the token so that our holders will be able to make democratic decisions when it comes to listing and delisting.

The Gamification Galaxy

Nebu uses gaming mechanisms that allow users to learn complex trading issues in a simple and attractive way. Awards such as power-ups, loot boxes, and NEBU coins incentivize users to be an active part of the exchange.

  • The Premise

You are a brave astronaut. In the outer reaches of space, you complete missions to gain access to new items and features. There are many challenges to tackle, from simple quizzes to quick trades on selected crypto pairs and onboarding new team members for various missions. Each level is like a wormhole, a gateway to new opportunities, offers, and novelty items that enhance the trader’s experience.

  • Items

Users can win and buy power items that are available on the marketplace, temporarily or permanently boosting their avatars. This can reduce transaction fees for selected crypto pairs, as well as increase staking rates, reward ratios on airdrops, and the number of copy-trading users on the exchange. Each item is a unique NFT. Users can create their own sets and trade the ones they win.

In terms of functionality, Nebu’s interface is clean and concise. The dashboard’s menu makes it easy to check current earnings, trading history with a list of open orders, entry and exit costs for given crypto pairs, information on how to read candlestick charts, a selection of new NFTs available on the marketplace, and other details.

  • Competition and Cooperation

Users can create teams to compete with other traders for the highest possible volume. Teams that top the leaderboards will be rewarded with NEBU coins and more.
